Effective December 1, 2022, New Article 14A, Chapter 66 of the NC General Statutes keeps the filing of assumed business name information at the registers of deeds’ offices across the state. The statewide, online, searchable database contains assumed business name filings made on or after December 1, 2017. Assumed business names filed prior to December 1, 2017, will expire on December 1, 2022 and will not appear in the database.
