Effective January 1 2013, Legislative Bill 854 limits the time in which an administratively dissolved entity can be reinstated. Entities that have been administratively dissolved for 5 or more years had until January 1, 2013 to reinstate. Moving forward, business entities have up to 5 years from the date of the administrative dissolution to reinstate. This bill applies to corporations, nonprofit corporations, limited liability companies, and limited cooperative alike. Secretary John Gale urges Nebraska business entities to review their current status with the Secretary of State’s office.
